Interview with Jade Hassouné (Meliorn)

Last weekend several actors from Freeform’s hit sci-fi/fantasy drama Shadowhunters were featured guests at “The Hunters of Shadow” convention in Paris. The team from ShumDario News had the honor and privilege of sitting down with Jade Hassouné who plays Meliorn on the show. episode 213 “Those of Demon Blood”

Episode 13 of the second season of Freeform’s Shadowhunters, titled Those of Demon Blood, aired Monday night promising to be the most controversial episode to date. Written by Zac Hug and directed by Michael Goi, our favorite sci-fi drama dipped its toes into some pretty hefty real-world topics that surely resonated with viewers around the globe. Tackling social and political issues such as prejudice, racial profiling, discrimination and equality, we saw the fantasy genre elevate into something very relevant to today.

episode 212 “You Are Not Your Own”

Shadowhunters episode 12, You Are Not Your Own, aired Monday night on Freeform and we are still trying to recover from it! Directed by Billie Woodruff and written by Jamie Gorenberg this intense roller coaster ride of pain and heartbreak shocked us to our core. episode 211 “Mea Maxima Culpa”

What a comeback! Shadowhunters had their mid-season premiere on Freeform Monday night, after a three month hiatus, and we absolutely loved every minute of it! This marked episode 11 of the 20 planned for season 2, and was titled Mea Maxima Culpa. Written by the amazingly talented Michael Reisz and directed by executive producer Matt Hastings, the hour was jam packed with action and suspense, plenty of drama, plus a healthy dose of romance and angst. All the things we love about the Shadow World. The story picked up right where we left off back in March with Valentine arrested and the Clave desperate to find the Mortal Cup. Our favorite Shadowhunter Alec Lightwood, played by Matthew Daddario, and the love of his life the magnificent Magnus Bane, played by Harry Shum Jr., came right out of the gate firing on all cylinders with stellar performances. Which of course doesn’t surprise us, we always look forward to watching them light up the screen each week.
